Travel industry experts
A small team of travel industry experts who have built travel products for a living and booked more hotels than they would like to admit. We started The Better Trip because the answer to "where should I stay" should take ten seconds, not a weekend of tabs. Every hotel here is chosen by us, and hotels cannot pay to be included.
Booking sites maximise choice. We do the opposite. For each destination we look hard at the serious hotels, argue about them, and keep only the ones we would actually book. Then we tell you which one we would choose first, and why.
We are not luxury-only. A smarter, cheaper hotel can beat a famous, expensive one, and when it does we say so. We are not a booking site either. Expedia handles the transaction. We handle the decision.
What you will not find here
No public scores. No star-rating clutter. No fake urgency. No hundred-hotel grids. No display ads. Inclusion is the quality threshold, and every hotel has to earn its place with a clear reason to exist.
Honesty about experience
Our recommendations are research-led. We never imply a personal visit or stay unless it actually happened, and we mark the difference clearly. Over time more of the edit will be first-hand.
